60 kilometres of culture. A metropolitan celebration - 2 stretches of everyday culture

On the 18th of July 2010 visitors will be able to explore the A40 motorway running through the centre of the Ruhr in both directions. They will be able to travel the side of the motorway from Duisburg to Dortmund on anything with wheels like a bike or rollerblades, provided it has no motor. Alternatively they will be free to explore the so-called "programme side" on the other side of the motorway from Dortmund to Duisburg. You are therefore invited to take a personal part in the celebrations of the European Capital of Culture 2010 with your friends, family, colleagues and club members at one of the 20,000 tables. If you prefer, of course, you can simply take a stroll along the programme side and enjoy the events at the tables and on the seven local authority stages.

To get an overall idea of the whole stretch of road along the Still-life A40/B1, all you have to do is click on a town on the map and you will be directed to the respective motorway entrances and exits. Another click will give you a more precise view of the activities. You can use the navigation arrow beneath the graphics to move right and left along a motorway, or simply click on the adjacent stretch.

The map will tell you about the access points to the route in both directions and about the central meeting points along the A40 motorway on July 18th 2010.

The map is intended to help you to get your bearings along the whole route. The route is divided into various urban areas. Each area consists of several entrances and exits. The distribution of entrances and exits is based on the possible access points along the route. Only those entrances and exits along the motorway are given where it is possible to access the route.
